How to make an Eyepin

This short project will show you how to make your own Eyepin using silver wire and a selection

of tools, all of which are available to buy on the website.

STEP 1

Measure your 1mm round wire to the desired length, we recommend about 1.5 inches,

and cut using your Top Cutters.

STEP 2

Hold your 1mm round wire securely either with your Chain Nose Pliers or your fingers. Still holding the wire, place your Round Nose Pliers at the tip of one end of the wire.

STEP 3

Grip the wire with the Round Nose Pliers, but not too hard as this will mark the metal. Using your pliers, bend the wire inwards, around the thinner end of one jaw. Don't wrap the wire - use the pliers.

STEP 4

Keep moving the pliers round until the tip meets the shaft of the wire neatly. The wire must be kept straight. If it does distort, use your Flat Nose Pliers to straighten.

STEP 5

Once this is done, using your Round Nose Pliers, bend the eye loop back to create a slight arch.

COMPLETE!

You should now have your very own, home made Eyepin!
