All of them have a jewellery background, whether that is graduating from Jewellery School or having been employed elsewhere either manufacturing or selling jewellery items. Dan, Stephen and Charlie Betts
With the original family business founded in 1760, the Betts family have been continuously involved in the jewellery trade for nine generations.
Amanda
Representative
Amanda joined the Stephen Betts Group in 2005 as a representative for both Stephen Betts and Betts Metal Sales. Amanda has previous experience in retail sales and manufacturing and has a keen interest in precious gems.
Andrew
Casting Expert
Andrew, otherwise known as 'Bod', joined the Group in 2005. Andrew works in our workshop department and looks after casting for Charles Booth, whilst also helping out with smelting for the Stephen Betts & Sons when he can. He is also a dab hand at polishing!

Charles Booth Customer Services
Having worked in the trade since leaving school Claire joined the Stephen Betts Group, in 2008. Claire not only looks after all of our dental customers but she also assists with Betts Metal Sales wedding ring stock and enquiries.

Group Customer Services & Community Coordinator
Claire graduated with a 3D design degree in 2002 and joined Betts Metal Sales in 2004. Claire is part of our customer services team and the Community Coordinator on the website. She loves designing and making her own crafts and has recently set up her own business!
Clare
Stephen Betts Customer Services
After working in retail jewellery for 11 years, Clare joined the Stephen Betts refining department in 1999. Clare is responsible for taking in scrap and issuing payment. Clare is also a keen photographer and has won various competitions with her snaps!
Cliff
Representative
Cliff is a representative as well as an airline pilot! He joined the Stephen Betts Group over 30 years ago and is an expert in refining, particularly in the Potteries.
Daniella
Trade Counter Assistant and Tools Expert
Daniella joined Betts Metal Sales in 2011 as part of our dispatch department. She is now a member of our trade counter team and is our resident tool expert!
Debbie
Trade Counter Manager and Findings Buyer
Debbie has a wealth of experience working for various companies within the jewellery trade, in manufacturing, sales and purchasing. Debbie joined Betts Metal Sales in 2006 as our Office Manager and is now a fully qualified tutor for our PMC classes. Debbie is a well qualified expert on all our findings, castings and diamonds.
Graham
Group Credit Control
Graham joined the Stephen Betts Group in 2008 and works within our credit control department. Graham looks after our customer accounts within all 4 subsidiaries of the company.
Holly
Marketing and Product Development Manager
Holly joined the Stephen Betts Group in 2008 after graduating from the School of Jewellery with a HND and Degree. Holly has a varied role within the company, with particular responsibility for marketing and graphic design for Betts Metal Sales and assisting with NPD.
Jane
Quality Control and Dispatch Clerk
Jane has been with the Stephen Betts Group since 2006, previously working within our refining department. Jane has now joined our dispatch department and is responsible for all incoming and outgoing post.
John
Refining Development Manager
John joined us from Marple Laboratories in 2008 and is responsible for developing our refining department both in customer acquisition and trends. John is well known and widely respected within the trade and a very valuable member of the team!
Jemma
Trade Counter Assistant
Jemma is an established Silversmith having exhibited in a number of locations, including the V&A in London. Jemma spent 6 years studying and then a further 3 years as Artist in Residence at Birmingham's School of Jewellery. Jemma joins Betts Metal Sales as part of our trade counter team and will be on hand to answer any large scale questions.
Jen
CAD/CAM Designer and Cashier
Jen joined the Stephen Betts Group in 2011 after graduating from University. Jen not only works in our accounts department but is also our in-house CAD/CAM designer. She has a very strong design background, having worked for some of the major jewellery manufacturing companies in the Jewellery Quarter.
Karen
Operations Director and Group Sales Manager
Karen joined the Stephen Betts Group in 2007 as our Operations Director and Group Sales Manager. Karen has worked within the trade since 1984 and has vast experience within jewellery sales.
Kathryn
Website Coordinator
Kathy has worked within the trade since leaving school at 16 and joined us in 2011. Kathy is responsible for coordinating the website, processing orders, enquiries and general day to day updates.
Kay
Representative
Kay is a representative working for Stephen Betts and Betts Metal Sales. Kay deals with scrap and finished jewellery on a daily basis she joined the Group in 1995.
Kelly
Stock Control Manager
Kelly has worked within the trade since 2001 having previous experience within casting, polishing and quality control. Kelly joined Betts Metal Sales as part of our trade counter team and is now responsible for Betts Metal Sales stock control and ensuring quality standards are met.
Laura
Production Operative
Laura joined the Stephen Betts Group in the summer of 2012 as part of our expanding production department. Laura's main responsibilities lie within wedding ring manufacture, however you may see her at our trade counter now and again.
Lee
Polisher
Lee joined Betts Metal Sales at the beginning of 2013, as our in-house polisher, coming to us from a self employed background. Lee has been working within the trade as a polisher for over 20 years. His expertise and vast knowledge allows us to not only provide a faster but more efficient service for all of our customers.
Lynne
Purchase Ledger
Lynne joined the Group in 2010 and works within our Accounts department controlling purchase ledger.
Malcolm
Group Finance Director
Malcolm is our Group Finance Director and joined The Stephen Betts Group in 2010. Malcolm is one of the few not to have had previous experience with jewellery - we are working on him! He is, however more than qualified in all things financial, enabling us to give the best possible service to our customers.
Mel
Group Telemarketing
Mel spent a decade working for various competitors before joining Betts Metal Sales in 1998. Mel is responsible for building our customer base and is always on hand to deal with any query you may have, she loves a good natter!
Michelle
Group Customer Services
Michelle joined the Group in 2007 within the customer service department answering the phones and looking after some of our major customers, having worked previously in the Jewellery Quarter since she was 16. Michelle will always go out of her way to help.
Nina
Charles Booth Customer Services and BMS Supervisor
Nina joined the Stephen Betts Group in 2007 and has worked in customer services within the trade for over 13 years. Nina has vast experience working on both Betts Metal Sales and Charles Booth.
Pete
Trade Counter Assistant and Bullion Expert
Pete has worked in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter since 2003. He works in our trade counter and is our resident bullion and wedding ring expert! Pete also loves anything with an Art Deco influence, so if you have any jewellery designs that reflect this, he would love to see them.
Paul
Smelting and Refining Expert
Paul has worked within the industry since 2002. He joined The Stephen Betts Group in 2008, coming from Marple Laboratories. Paul is our very own refining and smelting expert and is a whiz when it comes to scrap!
Roger
Representative
Roger already had many years experience in bullion dealing and jewellery manufacture before joining the group in 1995. Roger is a representative for both Stephen Betts refining and Betts Metal Sales.
Richard
Group Account Development Manager
Richard joined the group in 2011 and has over 15 years' experience within the jewellery industry. Richard is our Group Account Development Manager and is highly involved in all areas of the Stephen Betts Group.
Stacey
PA and Refining Support
Stacey joined the Stephen Betts Group in 2008 as the PA to the Betts family, she has recently taken on the extra responsibility of providing support to our refining department. Stacey has previous management experience and her organisational skills are formidable!
Sue
Group Telemarketing
Sue has been in the jewellery industry since 2003 working within customer services. She joined the Group in 2010, having left a competitor, and is part of our Telemarketing and Customer Service team.
Tracey
Customer Services Manager, Jewellery Buyer and PMC Tutor
Tracey already had a wealth of jewellery knowledge when she joined the Stephen Betts Group in 1989. She is now the Jewellery Buyer and Customer Service Manager for Betts Metal Sales. Tracey is also a certified tutor for our Precious Metal Clay classes which are held at our accredited training centre.
Trevor
Representative
Trevor joined the Group in 1966 working for Stephen's father John Betts, as a lorry driver. He is now one of our most highly regarded representatives for Stephen Betts, collecting scrap from far and wide! He has worked for Stephen since 1979.
